Seminar "Human Resources: The Key to Tourism Success in Vietnam"

Abstract: Vietnam’s tourism industry has a bright future. The country has all the attractions needed to draw increasing numbers of domestic and international tourists. However, the country still lacks the needed human resources. Training a high number of workers at all levels of the industry is the biggest challenge. In this seminar we will discuss the strategic measures needed to confront this problem based on the experience of the joint program EU-Vietnam developed between 2005-2009.

Speaker: Mr. Jozef van Doorn. Mr. van Doorn was the European Co-Director of the Program to train HR in Vietnam for the Hosp & Tourism Industry. The program was financed by the EU with a cost of over 5 million euros. It was implemented in collaboration with VNAT (Vietnam National Agency for Tourism). Mr. van Doorn has a long experience in running similar successful programs in many parts of the world: Surinam, the Caribbean, Bulgaria, Tanzania.
